The Keto friendly Chocolates are only 35 calories each and sweetened with Stevia. The perfect snack since they come individually wrapped which is much safer for snacking then a big bag.

Check out these cool necklaces and a bracelet that I recently photographed for a client. It was a very fun project and if you have any products you would like photographed please email me the details.
Which Color is your favorite? My favorite color is red.
All of their necklaces are available at Amazon and unlike so many copycats on Amazon, they use pure & genuine essential oils, and not "aroma" oils which are Chinese copycats and who knows what they use. The oils smell amazing and my favorite scent is the lavender.
I would like to thank Peyton for modeling the necklaces. I love the variety and her great expressions. I look forward to photographing her again.
Their product line includes lots of great inspirational designs such as a Tree of Life, Celtic Cross, Heart, Flower of Life, and more many intricate designs.
The locket and chain are hypo-allergenic which is perfect for me since I have sensitive skin. I can only wear nickel free hypo-allergenic jewelry.
The Aromatherapy necklaces make great unique gifts and come in a nice gift box.

Here's a few photos from a doggie bubble bath photo shoot with Aidan, Ali and Joy.
Joy is a rescue from Florida Little Dog Rescue. She is from a hoarder case. There were 180+ dogs in the house. Aidan and Ali were both adopted and they are nine years old and Joy is twelve.
How often should a dog be bathed?
This is a complicated question and depends on lots of things such as the breed of dog, length of fur, and whether they are an inside or outside dog. A good rule of thumb is that if they smell or are covered in mud it's time for a bath. Some dogs need bathed every few days, once a week, or every few weeks. Bathing too often can even strip some of the oils off your dogs skin and I recommend using natural dog shampoos that are all natural and contain coconut oil.
Here's one of my favorite photos of Aidan, Ali, and Joy being dried off after their fun bubble bath photo session.
The photo shoot was tons of fun and I would love to do more like it.
Would your dog like to be featured in a doggie bubble bath photo shoot?
Here's a series of low-key portraits taken of Aidan, Ali and Joy on a black background with dramatic lighting.
They all love squeaky toys. Aidan will high five and roll over.
What tricks can your dog do?
]]>Check out these travel cosmetic bags that I recently photographed for a client. The sales of these bags help support donations to World Wildlife Fund and the bags feature either an elephant or a tiger. Which animal is your favorite? Comment below.
Most of the images feature the products on a white background for Amazon, but I also photographed the travel bags on a light grey wood background and grass background too.
I was not trying to photograph my cats with these bags, but of course Dragon decided that she just must pose with one of the bags. She curled up in the leaves I was using as a background using as a background and refused to leave until I took her photo and of course gave her a treat or two or more...
The above images show close-ups of the shiny details of the zipper and strap. I photographed these images in a white light box tent to make the shiny metal look best. In these images you can really see the texture of the sturdy canvas material which make these bags sturdy and great for travel. The one on the left is a close-up of the elephant bag and the one on the right is part of the tiger bag.

I had the fun opportunity of photographing three amazing dogs that are looking for their forever homes. Right now they are being fostered by a great volunteer with A Cause 4 Paws Rescue.
Oliver is a very sweet playful and energetic Jack Russell Mix. Loves other dogs and kids.
Tiffany is a 5 month old Chiweenie. Great with everyone. Loves dogs and is a huge snuggler.
Brooklyn 9 week old Chiweenie mix. Spunky loving and adorable.
If you are interested in one of A Cause 4 Paws Rescue's adoptable dogs please visit their site at www.acause4pawsrescue.org to submit an adoption application. An app must be approved before a meet and greet can be scheduled.
A Cause 4 Paws Rescue holds pet adoption days on the 2nd Sundays of the month at the Crooked Can Brewery in Winter Garden. Check out their Facebook page to learn more about their great dog adotion events.
]]>Has your dog tried the new Dog Chits Venison and Beef Sticks or Lamb Lung Fillets?
The Dog Chits Venison and Beef Sticks and Lamb Lung Fillets are natural and made in the USA. The dog treat pieces come in random shapes and sizes and are easy to break into even smaller pieces for training or treats. I found a heart shape one in my bag. It's almost like looking for shapes in clouds. On the right image I think the top left one kind of looks like a fish and the one one the left a bird. What shapes do you see?
Maui's licking lips in anticipation for a venison and beef stick.
Tiger's jumping for joy for his new treat from Dog Chits. Would your dog like to be a pet product model? Email and I can add your pet to the list for modeling the next great pet product.
Here's a few lifestyle images of Luna. I love the colors in the above image with the fun colored crafting drawer behind her.

Check out this cool Cat Travel Cage with photos featuring my cats. The above photo is Dragon just hanging out in her new pet travel carrier. It's available in two patterns. You can choose either black and white checkerboard or blue hearts.
My cats love the CheeringPet Cat Travel Cage because it doesn't seem like a hard plastic confining crate to them. They can see out of the mesh on two sides when the flaps are rolled up. It also folds up easily for storage.
Here's Summer all tucked in and ready to go, but giving me a look that's asking why did you leave the feather toy on the outside.
There's room enough for two large cats to fit comfortably.
She always has to sniff and check out all the new fun toys. The kit comes with two toys you can hang from the ceiling of the cage. It also includes a little mouse and fish for them to cuddle with. And the best part is the feather on the stick toy that you can use to get their attention.
I think my cats also like the CheeringPet Cat Travel Cage because it reminds them of my white light tent box that I use when photographing shiny reflective products. They jump in my photo tent box when I am photographing products and demand treats for modeling before they jump out. The above image shows Dragon peeking her head out asking for another treat. My cats love to model and I am always looking for companies with cat products for them to model, so if you have a product you would like photographed with my cats please send us an email.

Buddy's Essentials for Pets features Omega Skin & Joint and Hip & Joint Support chews for dogs and cats. In the photo on the left my cat, Dragon's eyes beautifully reflect the green of Buddy's Essential's logo. On the right Ali has her tongue wagging ready for her treat.
The Omega Skin and Coat chews include Omega-3 and Omega-6 to help promote healthy, shiny and soft fur.
The Omega-3 comes from Salmon to help promote healthy skin and very photogenic silky fur.
The hip and Joint Support chews are made with Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM and Yucca Schidigera. The Glucosamine comes from shellfish for easy absorption and to help support joint flexibility and mobility. The pet supplement chews are made in the USA.
On the left Dragon is posing pretty with her front paws crossed to show that the Hip and Joint Support is great for keeping her joints nice and flexible. On the right Aidan is sticking his tongue out in anticipation of receiving his next Omega Skin and Joint Chew.

I recommend experimenting with a Refractique crystal ball to bring a new creative look to your photography. Refraction happens when light passes through crystal or water and the light is bent creating distortion. When photographing through a crystal ball the image will become inverted. I could have flipped the refracted image below in Photoshop, but I kinda of like it upside to be unique.
I recently took the crystal ball to a local botanical garden and was impressed with the cool images I created. The refraction ball gave me a new focus and I tried new angles. For some of them I got down really low on the ground.
I used my hand to hold the Lensball in some of the images and for others I found surfaces to set the crystal ball on such as rocks. The lens is like a magnifying glass so if you hold it to long in the bright sun it will start to get hot on your hand, so shoot fast.
Here's an image I created of the Bok Towers in Lake Wales, Florida. It's cool to see the tower reflected into the crystal ball. I used Bokeh to blur out the real tower, so your eye can focus on the inverted reflection of Bok Towers. I experimented with several different lenses while testing the crystal ball, and I personally like using the Nikon 24-120mm N lens to show more of the scene. In additiona, it was easy to shoot with the camera in one hand and the crystal ball in the other. I think it would be better to use a tripod when using a macro or telephoto lens. I look forward to experimenting more with my new Refractique crystal ball and encourage you to try some refraction photos too.

The Avitz animal handling gloves are made of cowhide leather to help protect your hands. The gloves work well with pets and especially those who work in the animal field such as vets and rescue groups. Putting on the gloves helps the user to feel safe from being bit or scratched and at the same time gain confidence from wearing the glove when handling all types of animals such as birds, reptiles, cats, dogs, chickens, and lots more.
The Handling Gloves are great for handling cats who do not like to be picked up. My cats liked the smell of the leather gloves and enjoyed being petted by them. They are great for handling feral cats too.
The gloves are great for checking animals teeth and gums which if checked regularly can catch signs of dental disease before they become a problem. If you see any signs such as red gums, bleeding, discolored teeth, plaque or tartar, or pain if you touch the gums or mouth, please have your dog check by a veterinarian.
The Avitz Gloves can also be use for more than just animals. They are great for gardening and help prevent cuts from thorns or twigs. You can also use them while grilling on the BBQ.

My cats just got the chance to model with a new heated pet mat and they are fighting over who gets to lay on it.
I got a second heated pet mat, but then I stole it from my cats because it also makes the purr-fect heated back mat for me while editing photos. I guess I need to order more mats for my six cats. Too bad Christmas is over because my kitties could have asked Santa for more beds.
I like that the cover comes off easily to wash away all the fur and keep the house cleaner and less fur on my bed.
This heated pet mat reminds me of the song from Big Bang Theory that starts "Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little Ball of Fur ..."
Cats love to be warm and cuddle on soft beds like the heated pet bed from Art of Paws.
If your cats want a heated pet mat too use this link and don't wait for Santa next year.
It also pairs well with the Cat Scratching Post Bed from Art of Paws.

My cats just modeled with a new cat scratching and they love it.
It's nice and tall which is great for my cat, Winter who likes to scratch high on walls. It's 35.5" tall which is perfect for my cats to use to fully stretch the shoulders and back. It's also great exercise for the cats to stretch and jump. The cat post is also great for multiple cats and helps keep their claws healthy.
The cat scratch post is made with sisal fabric which last longer than the rope and looks nicer. It looks like carpet and is great for the cats to sharpen their nails on. I'd much rather have them scratch on the post rather than my walls or leather chair. I also like that the top fabric piece is just held on with velcro, so I can easily pull it off to wash their fur off of it.
My cats had fun helping me put the cat scratch post together. They were getting really excited for their new toy. All tools were included and easy to follow instructions. It was really easy and only took a few minutes. The Art of Paws Cat scratch post has be claimed by Winter's Mama, Olive as her favorite spot. She likes to sit high on her perch and view the outside world.

I would like to share a few photos from a fun product photo shoot I just completed for Z Lux Skin Care. I really love the lavender scent from the monthly surprise gift box that I photographed and I look forward to photographing many other surprise gift boxes to see what's hidden inside. Since I took some doggie bubble bath photos a few months ago, Z Lux Skin Care suggested I photograph their soaps and scrubs in my bathroom. I added candles to give the scene a romantic day spa feeling.
Here's a photo of my hand pouring the lavender bath minerals into my bathtub. I love the pretty purple color. I can't decide if my favorite color is purple or red? What's your favorite color or do you have multiple favorites?
My cats even loved the lavender scent so much that they photo bombed my photo shoot.

Have you ever tried to give your cats a bath?
I tried once and that was enough for me and my cats.
So I found a much better solution for us which is Bioline Dry Foam Shampoo.
It's great for pets who are afraid of water. It's mild and safe for sensitive skin.
Bioline carries lots of pet products for cats and dogs. They even have toothpaste and toothbrushes for dogs.
My boyfriend likes the litter box deodorant since he has a very sensitive nose and with six cats we have three litter boxes. The Bioline cat litter deodorant powder is fragrance free and helps eliminate the urine order by chemically reacting with it and helps extend the life of the litter.
They also offer Keep Off Spray which I wish I would have got before my kitties decided my favorite little leather chair that I loved using as a photo prop was a scratching post. There's also Keep Off Jelly for people who have dogs. Do you have a cat or dog or many pets? Comment below with your types of pets and their names.

Do you love beer or wine?
Do you think your dog or cat might love it too?
You can now enjoy happy hour with your pets with their own special non-alcoholic drink.
Dog Beer & Wine
Dog beer is available in Chicken, Beef, and Calm Ale flavors. The Calm Ale beer has salmon and hemp oil for a calming effect. This dog beer is made with glucosamine which is a great anti-inflammatory supplement. Glucosamine is also good for joints and hips. Bark Brew contains no alcohol, no carbonation and no hops. So not only is it fun, but also healthy for pets. Order your dog their very own beer starting at just $5.99!
https://squareup.com/market/a-style-photography
Not a beer lover? There's also Dog Wine with fun names such as Dog Pawrignon, FetchMe Grigio, and FetchMe Noir. There's even a Dog-tini which has added peppermint to give your dog fresh breath. I love the smell of peppermint and the pretty blue color. The Dog Pawrignon is a great dog champagne and the perfect prop to add to my doggie birthday party photo shoots. Dog Pawrignon is a healthy drink that has wild caught Alaskan Salmon oil in it.
Here's a photo of Bently enjoying his dog beer at a summer picnic party. Here's a quote from his favorite human. "Everyday is a new adventure with Bentley, which I love! He enjoys traveling, eating, getting dirty, and playing the most."
Aidan, Ali, and Joy had a fun 4th of July photo shoot with Dog-tini's and dog wine. I love supporting local USA made products such as the dog beer and cat wine. The dog beer and cat wine is made in Fort Myers, Florida which is only about three hours from me.
Cat Wine
Lots of drinks are available for the kitties too. My kitties love that their new drinks contain catnip and valerian root.
Picky cats can choose from fun drinks such as Meowsling, Puurgundy, Cat-Tini's, and Meow & Chandon
Cat-tini's are the purr-fect drink for kitties.
Many of the drinks also include salmon oil which is very beneficial for both cats and dogs. A few of the benefits for salmon oil include inflammation reducer, helps fight heat disease, lowers blood pressure, and lots more. Salmon oil also helps improve their coat and shin by making them soft and shiny.
Summer tip for cats and dogs
If your cats or dogs are outside in the summer make sure they have plenty of fresh water available. Drop a few pet wine ice cubes in the water to help cool them down on a hot summer afternoon. Make sure there is also a shady sheltered spot for them to hide out from the sweltering summer sun. Both the Cat Wine and Dog Beer can be turned into frozen treats by freezing it in ice cube trays. I used fun paw print, bone and fish bone shaped ice cube trays to add to the fun.
My six cats really loved playing with their new toys. Even shy Gidget got into the action. Her favorite toys are the feathers on the silvervine sticks. They are also my favorite because I get to play and interact with my cats.
The toys are all natural and made with Silvervine. The scientific name for Silvervine is Actinidia polygama, but please don't ask me how to pronounce that because I all I know is that my cats go crazy for it like catnip. Silvervine is a climbing vine that grows in the high mountainous regions of Eastern Asia. It has two cat attractant compounds unlike catnip which only has one, so that's why they love than new toys even more than catnip. Silvervine also has a sweet-tea like fragrance that cats love. I know my cats love KitTEA too and I love spoiling them with new toys and treats.
They rolled and cuddled with the silvervine lumber cat toys. They loved the toys so much that they started a cat fight over the toys.
Dragon and Winter got their exercise this morning stretching and doing yoga poses while playing with their new toys.
Here's some photos featuring Dragon licking and biting her new natural cat toys. If you want to let your cats join in the fun you can check out the silvervine lumber cat toys at https://squareup.com/market/a-style-photography

For my latest project, I decided to get a little crafty and make some custom dog bandanas featuring paw prints.
My first step was ordering some colorful heat transfer vinyl sheets. I ordered an 18 pack so that I could have lots of colors to choose from. My favorite color is red. What's yours? I am saving the most of the orange sheet to create something with a fox for my sister as a gift. I also choose a HTV pack that includes glitter vinyl sheets to create sparkly shapes. This reminds me of a customer who always orders glossy photos because her personality is shiny and sparkly. It always makes me smile when she mentions glossy.
Next I used Photoshop to print the shapes and text by using the custom shape tool. To make the paw print the correct size to fit on the fabric, I measured the available space on the item. In Photoshop I used the ruler and guides to help me create the paw print and dog names the correct size. I teach lessons if you need help using Photoshop just let me know. I printed the shapes and text on a piece of card stock paper and then cut out the shapes to use as a guide. I then used shapes as a guide in reverse on the dull side of the heat transfer vinyl sheets. I did this project very DYI and cheap by just using scissors and an xacto knife to cut out the paw prints and text. For more precise and complicated designs, I would recommend purchasing a cutting machine.
After I cut out my shapes, I used a regular iron to adhere the vinyl to the fabric. It only needed 10-15 seconds and it's best to just apply constant firm pressure rather than moving the iron around. It's also a good idea to iron the fabric a little before you apply the vinyl so that you are not applying the shape on top of wrinkles. Another tip is to use a piece of parchment paper in between the HTV and your iron. I forgot on the first try and the heat vinyl transfer stuck to the iron. Oops. Let the fabric cool after you have ironed the HTV shapes onto it before peeling off the clear protective plastic.
Here's a photo of some custom dog bandanas that I created for one of my nearby neighbor's dogs.
Aren't they cute!
For the doggie bandanas, I just hot glued ribbon to cover up the frying edges of the fabric and make them look prettier. Another idea is to use pinking shears to cut the edges. Or if you have a sewing machine you could sew the edges or even make the bandana double sided with two different color or patterned fabrics. You could even make custom doggie bandanas for all the holidays so your pet can dress up and celebrate too.
This project was really fun and I look forward to creating a bunch of fun gifts for my family and friends with the heat transfer vinyl sheets. Here's the link if you would like to order some HTV for your own creative project. http://amzn.to/2tpemxL

Local Florida - Orlando Meet n Greet
I would like to encourage photographers to join events like the Orlando Meet n Greet to meet models and learn from other photographers. The theme of this event was black and white and most of the images were shot hi-key.
Photo Project Idea - Shoot from Above
Get creative and try different angles. I stood on a chair to get this shoot from above.
I even re-connected with some models I have photographed in the past at the Orlando Meet n Greet. Poala and Kirsten are both fun models and very creative with posing.
Photoshop Tips: How to create a Panoramic college
To create this panoramic college of multiple images, I started with the middle image and then increased my canvas size to fit the other images. I used the move tool to drag the other images onto the main image and move into place. I used layer mask to hide some of the extra white around the girls so that they wouldn't overlap the next image. I had to transform (Ctrl+ T or mac Cmd+T) a few of the images to make them all the same size. It would have been smarter to shoot on a tripod with the same focal length to make the all images the exact same size for easier combining. After I had all the images in the right places and did a stamp visible (Ctrl+ALT +Shift+E or mac Cmd+Alt+Shift+E) to create a merged layer, but kept the other layers underneath in case I needed to go back. On the merged layer I used the cloning and patch tools to blend the edges in between the images better.

My cats usually wake me up between 5-5:30 am every morning. They wake me up early even on my days off. My sweet cat named Summer scratches at the edge of my bed until I wake up and feed them. I have six cats and they all have very different personalities. Dragon begs for treats many times a day by jumping on the bed and meowing. Winter likes to be up high and jumps on top of the cabinets. Gidget's shy but very sweet. Autumn likes to meow for attention by the door. When we first rescued her she wouldn't let us touch her, but now after two years she can't seem to get enough attention and pettins. Olive is the momma to Summer, Winter and Dragon when rescued them as a family when the babies were about 3 weeks old. They still had baby blue eyes when we first adopted them and their momma.
I multi-task and eat breakfast while checking my email and social media sites. I love eating dessert for breakfast which gives me a great morning sugar rush. Although I am trying to be more healthy, I still like something sweet to start off the day. Today I tried to be more healthy and had honey nut Cherrios with banana slices instead of my normal cookies or cheesecake.
On most days I spend two or three hours in the morning editing pet portraits in Photoshop. Then I spend 15-30 minutes petting my six cats before heading out for the day. They all gather downstairs by the sliding glass door. My 6 cats are inside cats, but we also feed tons of stray neighborhood cats in our backyard too. I think my cats liked to be petted by the sliding glass door, so that they backyard cats can watch them and be jealous.
On days when I am holding a pet photo event at a local pet business, I load my car with tons of props and photography equipment. I have to load my car like a jigsaw puzzle to fit in all the fun props. I have different props for every holiday. I then spend the day photographing and playing with dogs. Although some times people bring other animals such as cats, bunnies, lizards, hamsters, goats, and more. After a fun day of photographing, I pack my car back up, drive home, and then unload. Next I download the photos from the day and back them up to an external hard drive.
Then it's dinner time for the cats and myself. If I have any energy left from the long day I edit for another hour or two before bedtime. Before I sleep the cats want more treats and pettins.
On days I don't have pet events I edit, print, or photograph private photo sessions in people's homes or at local parks. My cats love days when I do product photography photo shoots especially if it's a pet product that they get to taste or play with. They love treats and prefer chicken and turkey. Cats get bored very easily and they love to be entertained with new things even if it's just a new empty cardboard box from a product.
Do you have a product, pet, or family you would like photographed? Email me at [email protected] to schedule.

My cats love modeling with new pet products especially when they get lots of treats. They have modeled with cat scratching boxes, kitty litter scoops, cat toys, cat wine, KitTEA, cat pillows, pet hats, and many more cat products.
I have 6 cats that I have rescued into my heart and home. They have become my favorite models.
My cats are always on the lookout for the mail delivery service to bring them their next fun toy or cat treat.
(Plus they like new cardboard boxes)
Don't have a pet product?
That's okay. I'll photograph most products. What type of product do you have?
I've photographed socks, gloves, key chains, fidget spinners, artwork, cameras, wall decor, mermaid statues, nautical items, and lots more.
A Style Photography offers product photography on a white background or with props and backgrounds.
A few of the backgrounds that I have include: white, black, green, purplish-blue, grass, clouds, water, wood, brown, pink and more. A Style Photography also has lots of fun props such as a wooden boat, wagon, feathers, flowers, wicker chest, wine glasses, holiday themed props and more. I have so many props that I just had to buy another shelf to hold all the props. I am always looking out for new props to add to my collection.
Stop Action Photography
I enjoy creating stop action motion photos of liquids being poured such as Kit-TEA, dog beer, dog food, kitty litter, and lots more.
Outdoor Product Photography
A Style Photography can also photograph products outdoors year round in sunny Florida.
Dog Product Photography
A Style photography also photographs dog products with dog models.

]]>My cats got to play with new toys....fidget spinners.
Even though they are designed for humans, my cats are fascinated with them too.
They enjoyed batting them around.
My cats stared fascinated at the fidget spinners as they spun round and round. Some fidget spinners will spin for minutes until they slowly come to a stop.
What are fidget spinners?
They are great stress relievers and many people find them very relaxing. They are a great toy for people who like to tap their pencils to focus. They spin kinda like a fan.
Some fidget spinners are designed to help children and adults with ADHD, but cats love playing with them too.
Autumn's usually camera shy, but even she can out to play with the fidget spinners. She has very unique coloring black sprinkle with orange like Autumn leaves and a cute black nose.
Cats get bored very easily and love interacting with new toys. It's a good idea to keep giving them new cat toys or human toys such as fidget spinners to keep them active. I also find that they like when we rearrange things in our home such as their cat beds and towers. They also like things with new smells. My cats are indoor cats and since they can't explore the great outdoors, I try to bring them as many new experiences as possible to keep them entertained. Do you have any products that you would like my cats to play and model with? Email me at amanda@astylephotography.
Fidget Spinners come in all different colors, shapes and sizes.

Local Florida - St. Augustine Lighthouse
I recently took a trip to St. Augustine and photographed the lighthouse.
I just took photos from the ground because I'm a little afraid of heights and was told that there are 219 steps to reach the top. If your not afraid of heights I would encourage you to climb to the top and get some great scenic photos from up high.
To learn more about the St. Augustine Light house or to plan your visit check out http://www.staugustinelighthouse.com/
Photo Project Idea - Frame Your Subject
Frame your subject.
In this photo I used the tree branches to frame the lighthouse to add interest and a unique perspective.
Here's a few frame ideas. Try and see how many you can find to photograph.
1. Tree/leaves
2. Flowers
3. Arch
4. Bring your own wooden frame
5. Use hands to frame a subject
Photography Tips: Protect your Gear
I always keep a rain cover in my camera bag just in case it rains. When I visited Washington, DC I took a night bus tour to visit the sites and it was pouring rain, but I kept on shooting and protected my camera with a rain cover.
I also use a UV filter on my lenses to protect from scratches and dog licks.

It's already in the 90's in Florida, so give your pet a cool treat.
Make ice cubes out of Dog Beer and Wine.
Summer Heat Tip: Don't let dogs walk on hot sidewalks in the summer.
Just think do you want to walk barefoot on a hot sidewalk?
If you have a cat you can create ice cubes out of cat wine and champagne.
I used fun ice cube trays shaped like dog bones, paw prints and fish bones.
If your cats are outside in the summer make sure they have plenty of fresh water available.
Drop a few pet wine ice cubes in the water to help cool them down on a hot summer afternoon.
Make sure there is also a shady sheltered spot for them to hide out from the sweltering summer sun.
Watch this slideshow to see more ice cube fun photos.

]]>KitTEA and DoggieTEA are made with an organic blend of catnip and valerian root.
Tip: Guard the the tea bags because the cats love the smell so much they will try to steal the tea bags.
I only had the tea bags out for a few seconds to photograph them and my cat Winter tried to eat one.
I am really glad that the tea bags arrive in a metal tin to protect the bags from cat thieves.
Please make sure to cool down the tea for the kitties or doggies with ice cubes or refrigerate.
Did you know A Style Photography can print your pet photos on a coffee cup?

Local Florida - SPI Photo Conference
This newsletter is going to focus on photo conferences and classes for continued learning and improving photography skills.
Here's a few photos of a Scentsy camera that I won when I attended the last SPI photo conference in Orlando, FL. The next one will be January 4-8, 2018. This is the third time I have attended the SPI conference and I look forward to next year's event.
Thank you Send Out Cards for the gift.
I meet Tiffany Cline, a great source for Scentsy refills at a local Florida farmer's market.
Local farmer's markets are a great place for photo ideas and to meet new people.
My cats even like the Scentsy candle's scent.
Photo Project Idea
Attend a photo conference to learn new ideas, network, and be inspired.
I was inspired to do a frisbee photoshoot with a free gift I received from one of the vendor booths at the Shutterfest conference in St. Louis that I just attended last week.
Photography Tips:
Travel Photography Tips:
Research sunrise and sunset times so you can be prepared for the best lighting times.
Computer Tips:
I got a new computer. YAY! It's faster and there are less computer issues.
Since purchasing software on CD's has become less common and now a lot of the companies just sell software downloads, it was more time consuming to find all the programs I use and I had to do a lot of digging in my emails and receipts to find the links and passwords to download to new computer. It has been suggested to create a folder of downloaded program files to save for next time I upgrade which I think is a great idea to keep my programs organized.
Photoshop Tips:
Working with Layer Masks
The shortcut to fill a layer or layer mask with the foreground color is Alt+ Backspace.
Create a selection from a layer mask by Ctrl or Cmd clicking on the layer mask.

Local Florida - The Moon
These photos of the moon are very local to me. They were taken only a few steps from my house in the backyard.
On the way home from a seeing a movie over the weekend, The Great Wall, I noticed how the moon looked amazing with lots of clouds in front of it. So I crossed my fingers and hoped that the clouds would still be there when I got home.
As soon as I arrived home, I grabbed my camera and tripod and went into the backyard to photograph the moon.
I experimented with different exposures and really like the results. The long exposures show more details in the clouds in front of the moon and the shorter exposures show more details of the clouds in the sky.
The above moon photo was taken this morning from my front yard. Since the daylight savings time change was just a couple of days ago the moon was still out this morning.
Photo Project Idea - Photograph in your Backyard
Instead of traveling, just take a few steps outside to your backyard. Some ideas of subjects to photograph include, the moon, clouds, sunset or sunrise, ants, leaves, trees, birds, squirrels, texture in wood bark and lots more.
Photoshop Tips:
How to use Photoshop to remove a Dog Leash and Collar
Make a Duplicate copy of the background layer by dragging the background layer to the create a new layer icon or use shortcut (Ctrl+J or Mac Cmd+J)
(This is to help you work non-destructively in case you remove too much you can add a layer mask to reveal back parts of the original background image if needed later)
With this image I am going to use patch tool to remove the leash. With the patch tool draw a blob around the leash (or object) you want to remove and press Shift F5 or (Edit>Fill).
Under the Content’s Use drop down menu choose Content-Aware and then click OK.
Repeat using the patch tool multiple times and try smaller pieces to completely remove leash and collar.
Tip: Try to draw the blob as close to the object you want to remove without touching it because if you include a little piece of the object you want to remove such as the leash you might end up with smeared edges with some blue and pink of the leash still showing.
There are several tools you can use to remove the leash such as the patch tool, clone stamp, Healing brush, spot healing brush, and content aware tool. I often use multiple tools on the same objects to completely remove them.

I like that the cat scratcher pad is reversible, so that it can be flipped over and be replaced after they wear it down. Since I have 6 cats they go through cardboard scratchers very quickly.
The cat scratcher also comes with catnip which makes my cats happy.
It's eco friendly and the scratcher is made from all natural materials.
It even comes with a crinkly toy hidden inside the bottom with holes for my cats to stick their paws in to attack the toy for entertainment.

Local Florida - Light up Central Lake
Here's a few photos I took on Christmas Day in downtown Clermont, FL at Light up Central Lake.
Here's a fun experiment with motion blur.
Photo Project Idea:
Long exposure night photography of Christmas lights before they are all taken down or photograph street lights, buildings and cars at night.
Photography Tips: Tripods
Use a Tripod for long exposure night photography. Great for photographing Christmas lights.
I have several favorite tripods. For stability, I like Manfrotto tripods especially the ones with the cool flip over feature for macro photography to be able to point down over the flower or product.
For Travel, I love the MeFoto tripod because it's lighter weight and folds up small. I like that it can also become a monopod if a tripod is too much for a certain location. Last year I photographed at the Holy Land Park in Orlando, Florida during Christmas and it was too crowded on the night I went to have a tripod, so I just used the monopod to avoid being in people's way.
When I travel to visit my family in Missouri, I bring my MeFoto and Sirui travel tripods and use them as light stands by adding a flash bracket. They fit in my suitcase much better than light stands.

Photograph clouds. Exercise your imagination by photographing cloud shapes.
It's also a great idea to have a folder of cloud photos to merge into images with not so great skies using Photoshop.
"Truths are first clouds; the rain, then harvest and food." -Henry Ward Beecher
Photography Tips:
Circular Polarizers are great to use when photographing clouds. They darken the sky about 1-2 and make the skies bluer. When using be sure to turn the circular polarizer till the blues really pop. They are also useful in reducing glare and reflections.

Hollis Gardens looks like a great place to photograph a model, but there is a sign that says photography must not interfere with scheduled events. So please be respectful to others.

The best way to back-up photos is to actually make a print of your best, most memorable images because you could scan or photograph the print with the latest technology and have the image restored if it had become damaged over time. Do you have photos saved on old floppy disk or zip disk and have no way to read them? Make sure you keep updating your old files to the latest technology. For example, transfer your old home movies on VHS to DVD. Back up your previous memories.
Photoshop Tips:
The shortcut to undo the last thing you did in Photoshop is Ctrl(pc) or Cmd(mac) + Z
If you add the alt key you can undo more than just the one last thing. Ctrl(pc)/Cmd(mac) + alt + Z
Or go to the History panel and select a previous history step to undo a few steps.
The standard default allows the history panel to keep the last 20 steps.
If you want it to save more you can change it under preferences > Performance > History States.
I recommend the standard 20 step default because it slows down your computer if it has to save to many
steps. I recommend working with multiple layers and layer mask to work as non-destructive as possible.

Here's a link to a great article I found with tips for clipping cats nails. And they also have one for trimming dogs nails too. I like that the Wiki How article walks you though the steps of nail trimming starting with preparing your cats paws. It suggests getting your cat used to having it's paws touched and massaged first. My cats like suggestion to reward them with treats. It has a great illustration showing where to trim and to avoid the quick. The article recommends trimming your cats nails every 2-4 weeks.
Recommended nail clippers
Petscatch nail clippers and scissors
The Scissors work great for cats and the nail clipper is ideal for clipping dogs nails. The dog nail clipper has a safety stop and sharp stainless steel blade to cut through the nails easily and cleanly.
I like that the nail clippers has a nail file hidden in the handle.
My cats decided to use one of my favorite props as a scratching post. Oops, the cute leather chair is now a scratching toy even though we have three other scratching toys for them. Guess I need to clip their nails more often.

Brevard Zoo is a great local place to photograph animals. I regularly visit the zoo several times a year. The zoo is open daily from 9:30-5, but if you become a zoo member you can get early admission at 9am.
I love photographing meerkats because they remind me of my kitty cats playing.

They are metal and much better then the plastic ones that we have been using that keep breaking and have to be replaced. They are made by Petscatch.
Petscatch Kitty Litter Scoops
-Best Clump Remover
-Won't bend or flick
-Comfortable grip
-Anti-scatter sides
-Large size
- Teflon coated against corrosion
-Dry with cloth after wash to prolong life
Tips for happy cats:
1) Clean litter box at least once a day
2) Fresh water every day
3) Fresh cat food daily
4) Petting and attention
5) Toys for exercise and fun
Clean litter box at least once a day.
Twice a day is even better. Fresh litter box = happy cat and helps avoids extra messes.
I would also recommend multiple litter boxes for multiple cats. We have six cats and three litter boxes in
different areas.
It's also a good idea to completely clean out the litter box once a week and scrub it with soap and water.
Make sure you dry the litter box completely before adding fresh litter to avoid the new litter sticking to the
bottom. While your cleaning the litter box, don't forget to to clean your litter scoop too and dry with a cloth
to prolong it's life.
Local Florida - Sea Life
I recently visited the new Sea Life Aquarium on International Drive for the first time. They have lots of fish, sharks, turtles, jelly fish, sting rays, and sea horses. It's a great cool place to hide inside from the Florida summer heat and take great photos.
July Photo Project Idea - Hyper Sync
Computer Tip:
Keep your laptop cool this summer with a cooling fan.
I have been over working my laptop lately with lots of editing, backing up my archives, and multi-tasking which has been causing my laptop to really heat up. I recently purchased a cooling fan and it seems to be helping a lot.

Interesting Thought of the Day: Not all fire hydrants are red. Did you fire hydrants are color coded to let fire fighters know the amount of water and pressure available in a particular hydrant?
I have people asking me all the time at events if they can purchase my fire hydrant,
so here's an affiliate link if you would like one similar to mine.
Or schedule an pet portrait session, so your pet can pose with my fire hydrant prop.

Local Florida - The Old Spanish Sugar Mill
The Old Spanish Sugar Mill is a great place to take photos and have breakfast. At The Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill and Griddle House you can make your own pancakes. They bring you the ingredients you choose such as bananas and chocolate chips and they even have gluten free pancake mix. I wish I would have taken a photo of the pancakes, but they were so yummy I ate them.
After breakfast take a photo walk on the wooded trails and the to cool down take a dip in the springs which stays 72 degrees year-round. Nature boat tours are also available. If you would like to learn more check out their website.
June Photo Project Idea
Photo Tip: Look Up
Photoshop Tips
Did you know Ctrl(pc) or Cmd(mac) + 0 shows your image full screen? Another option is to double click the hand tool.
Do you want to see a ruler around your image? Go to View and then check mark rulers to turn the ruler around the image on and off. If you right click in the top left corner of the ruler, you can choose whether you want the ruler to show inches, pixels, Millimeters and more.
Here's a link to my favorite mouse to use with Photoshop. I am old school in that I like a mouse with a tail and no batteries to worrying about remembering to bring spares. It's also easier to pick it up by the tail when it falls on the floor. I also use wrist rest to help support my wrist during long Photoshop editing sessions. I like that it has bead filing that conforms to the shape of your wrist.

]]>Great News! I have decided to create a monthly blog for my fellow photographers and Photoshop students.
Click here if you would like the monthly Blog for Photographers link e-mailed to you every month.
I will include tips, tricks, product reviews, photo project ideas, upcoming class info & more. I have decided to start this blog because I would like to keep in touch with my past and current Photoshop and photography students to help keep the learning going.
My favorite part of the blog newsletter will feature photos and information about local Florida places to photograph. Some examples of places include the Orlando Wet Lands, Lukas Nursery, the Old Sugar Spice Mill, Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens and lots more.
Local Florida - Kanapaha
I recently went to Kanapaha gardens for the first time. It's about an hour and a half from Orlando and it's near Gainesville. My favorite part of the garden is the children's garden. There is a pond that features lots of fun sculptures. There's even a cat and dog sculpture. The water lilies were in bloom when I went May and there were hoards of dragonflies posing for me. They have two main paved paths. The path on the right is a mile and it goes through a shaded wooded area with a herb garden, sink holes, pond, and a vine garden. The path of the left is shorter only a 1/2 mile, but I personally think there are more interesting things to photograph on the shorter path such as the rose garden, butterfly garden, and children's garden. To learn more check out their web-site.
May Photo Project Idea
Photographing Flowers is May's photo project idea because April showers bring May Flowers.
Photo Tip: Add water droplets to flowers by spraying flowers with a water bottle.
Get closer with extension tubes. You can add them to your regular lens or to a macro lens to be able to focus even closer.

Pippi is a sweet senior female, 11yrs old and full of life and love. She is part of a package deal...her and sister Cassi were abandoned in a boarding facility after their owner passed away. They need a stable and peaceful environment to live in so please consider them for your home.
Cassi's part of a package deal. Her owner went to the hospital and put them in boarding, sadly she passed away and poor Cassi and her Sister 'Pippi' were left with no home. Please consider the 2 of them for your home. Cassi needs time to get to know other dogs but is friendly to all people. She does warm up to other dogs after some time.

In the wide world of photography, there are a lot of niches that let photographers hone in on their interests and turn them in to work. Just ask Amanda Myers of A Style Photography in Winter Garden, Florida. Like many photographers, Amanda has a diverse skill set that covers many aspects of photography. She specializes in photograph restoration and teaching students of all levels how to improve their general photography and Photoshop skills part of the time. When she isn’t doing that, she focuses on an aspect of the photo industry that caught her eye several years back, pet photography. She was kind enough to share some crucial pet photography tips that she uses to get those adorable shots.
Amanda was inspired to get into pet photography by her Aunt who has always loved to dress up her pets for parties and holidays. An animal lover herself, Amanda was struck by how cute her Aunt’s dogs and cats always looked. She knew that with the right equipment, she could carve out a niche with pet owners who wanted something special for their companions. As a result, she began accumulating her own collection of pet costumes, props, backdrops, and equipment. Before long, she had all that she needed to present any fur baby at their best. Having been in love with photography since the age of thirteen, she was happy to find a niche that she loved. Let’s check in with her and get some tips from the expert herself.
Why have you made pet photography a main-stay at your studio?
I love pets and have fun dressing them up and adding cute props. I also photograph children, families, and events. I recently photographed a fun birthday party with a Great Gatsby theme.
What’s the one item that you need to have on your person at every pet shoot?
Squeaky toy, treats, and patience.
Do you have any tips on getting the pets to “pose” so that you can get the perfect shot?
Sometimes I have the owner’s keep the dog’s leash on, especially at outdoor events, for safety. Then I Photoshop out the leash, so it doesn’t show.
How do you go about choosing the right photo backdrop for a pet shoot? Is it different every time?
My favorites are green, brown, and purple. The brown is great for classic photos. The green is great for seasonal photos and the pink is cute for dressing up photos.
One of the great things about photography is all of the different ways that it can be applied to life and turned into a career. Pet photography is just one of these niches. It requires a love of animals, the patience and experience to work with pets, and an eye for setting up and capturing shots that pet owners love. If you are thinking about scoping out the pet photography market in your area, start by checking out Amanda’s company Facebook page. She has plenty of great pet shots, as well as her traditional portrait work and information on the classes that she teaches. Staying busy is key for any photographer and Amanda has it down pat.
I am hoping my new web-site will make ordering easier.
